garbage: animal and vegetable waste resulting from handling, storage, sale, preparation, cooking and serving of foods.
ghg: greenhouse gas, such as carbon dioxide or methane, which contributes to potential climate change.
grass fed: at least 80% of an animal's energy source is grass; less polluting and more energy efficient than grain fed.
gray water: domestic wastewater from kitchens and bathrooms, sinks, tubs, and washers.
green: legally, a meaningless term, but often refers to environmentally-minded efforts.
greenhouse effect: warming of the earth's atmosphere attributed to a buildup of carbon dioxide or other gases.
green energy: energy sources combined to supply electricity that is less harmful to the environment.
global waming: increase in the near surface temperature of the earth; used to refer to emissions of greenhouse gases (ghg).
